Charity Donations
Giving back is extremely important to me. Many themes in The Guardian were inspired by my desire to increase awareness of rising inequality and the dangers of extremism and hatred. In honor of publishing The Guardian, I’ve donated to the following charitable causes:
The Secular Coalition for America
The Secular Coalition is a group of diverse organizations representing atheists, agnostics, humanists, and other nonreligious Americans. The Secular Coalition for America is a dedicated lobbying organization within the Coalition, whose mission is to advocate for the equal rights of nonreligious Americans and defend the separation of religion and government.
Why I donate: Whether you are religious or nonreligious, The Secular Coalition for America is an important organization protecting the rights of all US citizens. I first heard about the Secular Coalition at Dragon Con and was impressed by their commitment to the separation of church and state.
PJ Library sends free high-quality Jewish children’s books to families every month. These stories spark conversations that inspire the whole family to explore and celebrate what they love about Jewish life.
Why I donate: PJ Library books are important tools helping Jewish children connect to their heritage and helping non-Jewish children learn about Judaism, all while promoting literacy across age groups. The PJ Library website also has important resources advising how to talk with kids about antisemitism in age-appropriate ways.
Interfaith Atlanta promotes understanding, respect, prayer, interaction, and unity among the diverse faiths in the greater Atlanta region. We advance the influence of voices of the faith communities for the common good.
Why I donate: Now more than ever, it’s vital for local communities to bridge and respect differences. Through their speaker network and other activities, Interfaith Atlanta promotes awareness, understanding, and community across religious faiths.
